Song will start then stop at about 35 sec mark using Google Chrome. When using Edge or Android app it will continue to next song and still only play about 35 secs. I tried both ffmpeg version 4. No problems. Log looks good. Just want to thank binhex for all of their work on this.
I've really enjoyed tinkering with it. This seems to tick all those boxes. If I try to do either for a playlist that has over 1K songs, it takes a long, long time before you can actually play anything. I've never experienced this with Emby, Plex or JRiver. Just asking. Most likely nobody here is going to be a person who codes for the project directly, including binhex.
You'll want to go to their github and create an issue there if you want someone to look at it. You could also look into trying Airsonic-Advanced instead as I believe they forked Airsonic and are more aggressively developing it, including performance enhancements. Perhaps that's something they've fixed. It seems that airsonic does not like aac streams. You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. You can stream to multiple players simultaneously, for instance to one player in your kitchen and another in your living room. Airsonic is designed to handle very large music collections hundreds of gigabytes.
If you have constrained bandwidth, you may set an upper limit for the bit rate of the music streams. Airsonic will then automatically re sample the music to a suitable bit rate. In addition to being a streaming media server, Airsonic works very well as a local jukebox. The intuitive web interface, as well as search and index facilities, are optimized for efficient browsing through large media libraries. Airsonic also comes with an integrated Podcast receiver, with many of the same features as you find in iTunes.

Learn how to install Airsonic on the Raspberry Pi, and make your own personal media streamer! Subsonic launched as a media server app with an onus on music server use. While initially open-source, Subsonic eventually went closed source. However, several forks spawned from Subsonic including the aptly-named Madsonicand Airsonic. Whereas both Madsonic and Subsonic operate on a freemium model where most functionality is free with select features behind a paywall, Airsonic is completely open-source and free to use.
As such, it's a fantastic open-source alternative to Subsonic, Madsonic, Plex, and Emby. Its Subsonic roots remain since it's a Java-based application. An Airsonic media server running on a Raspberry Pi is pretty easy. A case is optional, but definitely recommended.Have a question about this project? The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:. Hi tob and welcome to libresonic! I would like to reply exactly to your question. I agree with EugeneKay : UpnP does not worth the effort.
I think it is sort of standard technology that will never work properly. We can consider better alternatives even with your use case. Libresonic has a jukebox feature that means you can play music directly on the server hosting libresonic rather than in streaming mode. Unfortunately, the jukebox system has some downsides. Fortunately, I am currently working on a jukebox system that really works.PlexGuide: AirSonic Setup \u0026 Demo
But, in your case, I suppose that your Libresonic is not hosted on your Pi but that your Pi is combined to a DAC to play music on your stereo system. So you just need a sort of remote jukebox system. Fortunately again, I developed on my own Subsonic fork such a system. I host Subsonic on a Pi, send the music on another Pi and drive the hole system with my phone using Ultrasonic even work with the official Subsonic android app.
I will probably bring it to libresonic. But I am also thinking of developing a remote jukebox player inside libresonic. Although I don't have any need for upnp, I am actually in agreement with tob I am well aware of the security nightmares associated with Upnp, but those concerns are mostly associated with your router. If users have upnp enabled on their router, they have other problems. Rather than ripping the feature out entirely, it would make more sense to make it a toggle-able feature that is disabled by default.
I don't know Upnp verry well but the few times I tried to test it, it was very slow. Hi, glad to read quite some folks are onboard to talk on this. I absolutely agree that upnp has its pitfalls on a security level but i have no expecations to use the upnp server via internet.
My own expecations on streaming etc. It is designed for people like you, I mean real audiopliles. As you I am an audiophile and need a good player system to take advandage of high quality DACs. My first motivation to work on Subsonic was to leverage it to a high quality audio player.Cookies are tiny data files stored in your web browser when you visit a website.
